Project Description: Lean Roadmap Implementation 

Provided the site-wide lean assessment which identified gaps. Examined gaps and assembled a site roadmap. Provided first-pass priorities for senior leadership team consideration. Business cases for each recommendation were created to achieve leadership alignment. Created Project Management Office best practices to manage the project priorities. Provided accurate capacity planning and individual team member performance measures including hour-by-hour charts to help pace and smooth production flow throughout the assembly and testing processes. This also included work and time studies, the creation of video step-by-step assembly techniques plus visual best practice documents for operator and leader standard work checks. Specific areas of concern required improvement events, called kaizens, where an assembled team of stakeholders used value stream maps among other tools for both current and future states to achieve over 30% improvement in reduced overall time to achieve the process goal. The 4-day event found an additional 53 opportunities for improvement for future similar kaizens while realizing over $100,000 in annual recurring savings during that first event. A training center for lean and quality basic skills was created with various “Lunch & Learn” events for all site team members.
